In my teens, after changing my last name to my mother's Vuong Kim Lien(Vuong Thi Sy/Ntxhi Vaj), I started this website project, as a dedication to my mother and my grandfather, for their endless love and pride of being and helping Hmong. After two years of documenting, interviewing, and collecting data and records for the website, it went online in February 2004.
I first made it with some simple copy-and-paste pages using Microsoft FrontPage. As time passed, I improved the website with Dreamweaver and changed to Joomla when it first launched. The website has been up and down through the years but I am making another copy using WordPress.
Based on my grandfather Vuong Quynh Son(Vaj Zoov Xeeb)'s oral recording and written materials, I translated and composed some of them into English. The majority of the work has not been edited or spell-checked since I built the website in 2004. It is my ongoing project, if you have any questions, please inquire. "Khi ta hai mươi", trang web này dịch thẳng từ tư liệu phỏng vấn ông ngoại tôi (Vương Quỳnh Sơn). Tôi ngưỡng mộ ông về sự đóng góp và hi sinh cho cả dòng họ và người Mèo khi đó. Đồng thời tôi cũng mong muốn được bày tỏ tình yêu và tri ân má tôi, người đã dạy tôi về cội nguồn của người Mèo và người Hoa. Đó là lý do tôi đã giữ gìn trang Web này từ năm 2004 đến nay, để kỉ niệm và ghi nhớ xuất thân của mình.
Từ khi trang web lên mạng tháng hai năm 2004 đến nay, tôi đã cố gắng duy trì và cập nhật kỹ thuật với nhiều công cụ làm trang web khác nhau. Đa số nội dung tôi dịch từ tư liệu tiếng VIệt sang tiếng Anh từ khi tôi còn ở Việt Nam thời mới mở cửa. Công trình một người làm, nếu có sai sót vui lòng bỏ qua.
